For years, I have been known for bringing people homemade cake. There was never a plan to go into the food industry, I just baked because I wanted to show people that I care. During that time, I received numerous requests to sell my much-loved cake but I always told people the same thing. I didn’t have time to bake on a scale like that.
Then the lightbulb moment happened – What if there was a way to have my cake made commercially? I realized that I get to be the one to disrupt a chemical-filled industry. As an avid label reader, I didn’t feel comfortable buying cakes or other baked goods from supermarkets. I didn’t want things in my food like “polysorbate 60” or “propylene glycol.” I just wanted simple, delicious cake. Even most bakeries add things to cake beyond what’s necessary.
With Miriam’s™ – I put your life over “shelf-life.” I’m not willing to add unnecessary ingredients to make better profits like the big brands do. I care. That’s what Miriam’s™ stands for.
When I began this journey I was told that my cake is going to be more pricey than others on the market to which I replied “I know!”. Aren’t people more concerned with why other baked goods are so cheap?
It took me over six months to source the right kind of chocolate chips because I wanted real chocolate without fillers.
I chose to use unbleached flour where the industry uses bleached.
I chose to only use real ingredients and to make this cake as clean as possible because dessert lovers deserve quality food.
Additionally, Miriam’s™ believes in the philosophy of Eat Something Sweet, Do Something Sweet. Know that a portion of our profits goes toward helping people pay for therapy.
Thank you for your support in making the world a better place through delicious food.
XO, Miriam
